ReplyDeleteMy 14 yr old (Aspie) wants to be alone until he feels more in charge of his feelings. He says, "I just need to go to my room". As long as he comes out and we work on the problem or talk about it after he has calmed down, that was ok with me. It works for us because when he is angry/anxious he doesn't hear what I am saying anyway so we agree to (Think about it then talk).
ReplyDeleteI just go to my room for timeout.
